Attorneys Rebecca M. Murphy and Samantha M. Vasques co-authored a comprehensive article entitled, A New Hope: Tortious Interference with an Expected Inheritance in Rhode Islandwhich was published in the Roger Williams University Law Review. The article details the genesis and development of tortious or wrongful interference with an expected inheritance and highlights differences in the approach states take regarding torts requirements as well as damages available to victims. It also discusses our firm’s major victory in a RI Superior Court ground breaking decision that recognized for the first time in the state's history the independent tort of tortious interference with an expected inheritance.


Employment law attorney and litigator, PLDO Partner Matthew C. Reeber, provided comments and legal insight to Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly in an article on the RI Supreme Court's split decision in the case, Beagan v. Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Board of Review, et al. that awarded unemployment benefits to an employee who was fired for posting disparaging comments about his boss on Facebook.


Managing Principal Gary R. Pannone and Partner Benjamin L. Rackliffe co-authored an article that was published in the Rhode Island Small Business Journal to help business owners survive and thrive in a competitive environment. A Primer on Corporate Governance for Business Ownership provides information about corporate governance structures and best practices when setting up policies and procedures.


Of Counsel Bruce H. Tobey was the principal investigator of a national study entitled, "Public-Private Partnership Opportunities for Water and Water Resource Recovery Utility Energy Projects.” Attorney Tobey addressed the report’s findings during a webcast attended by over 100 public and private sector executives. To read the final report with recommendations, click here.
