ATTORNEY KAS R. DECARVALHO TO KEYNOTE RI BLACK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION GALA

Partner and business attorney Kas R. DeCarvalho will deliver keynote remarks at the 2018 Rhode Island Black Business Association’s 7th Annual Awards Gala. The event honors small business owners, local leaders and volunteers who are committed to helping grow Rhode Island's economy and business environment and serving others through community involvement. This year’s theme is "Power of Inclusion - Maximize Success." The gala is scheduled for Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI. Attorney DeCarvalho’s legal career spans over 20 years helping businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals seeking advice with business formations, mergers and acquisitions, general company operations and culture and crisis management. He is a former business owner and an active community volunteer, and has served on the boards of multiple state, municipal and nonprofit organizations, including the Quonset Development Corporation, the Providence Economic Development Partnership, United Way of Rhode Island, the Greater Providence YMCA and Rhode Island PBS. He is also a member of the Rhode Island Commission on Judicial Tenure and Discipline, the Rhode Island Commodores and the Thurgood Marshall Law Society, among other organizations.

Attorney DeCarvalho earned his bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a 2004/Omega Class graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, has been recognized as a New England Super Lawyers and was twice named to Providence Business News' "40 Under Forty."
