ESTATE & TRUST ATTORNEY REBECCA M. MURPHY PROMOTED TO SENIOR ASSOCIATE

PLDO is pleased to announce the promotion of Rebecca M. Murphy to Senior Associate Attorney. Attorney Murphy is a valuable member of the firm’s Estate and Trust Planning, Administration and Litigation Team.  Her practice includes advising and representing fiduciaries, as well as trust and estate beneficiaries. She has significant experience counseling clients in all areas of trust and estate planning and administration, Medicaid planning, disability planning, probate administration and trust and estate litigation.

Attorney Murphy is an accomplished attorney in her practice area and published author. For the past two years, she was named a Rhode Island Super Lawyers Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, a distinction that recognizes the top 2.5 percent of Rhode Island lawyers under the age of 40 or those in practice for 10 years or less. She is the author of Murder, Fraud, and Tortious Interference: The Interplay Between Probate Court Jurisdiction and Superior Court Jurisdiction in Rhode Island and co-author of A New Hope: Tortious Interference with an Expected Inheritance in Rhode Island. She also volunteers her time as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Rhode Island Chapter.

Attorney Murphy earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was Competition Editor of the Connecticut Law Review, a Dean's Scholar, and a member of the Public Interest Law Group. She graduated with a B.A. in Religious Studies from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. She is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Attorney Murphy is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
